I think what you posted was very logical. But, what about this? what if you added a little information? I am not saying your content isn't good., but suppose you added a post title to possibly get people's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is kinda vanilla. You could look at Yahoo's home page and watch how they create post headlines to get people to click. You might add a video or a related picture or two to get people excited about what you've got to say. In my opinion, it could make your blog a little bit more interesting.
